So blessed to have known Mr. Dale through Graham. I know he really looked up to his dad. I could tell how great of a man he was through the few interactions I had with him and how Graham talked about him. Praying for your family and loved ones.

When Duke´s legendary Al Buehler told us about "a fine young man from Winthrop University" whom he was bringing into the Duke HPER department, we veterans of Duke had to take notice, as the Winthrop to Duke path was not a common one. Greg Dale quickly won the trust of not only Duke HPER and Duke Athletics as a whole, but his lovely wife and family soon became a fixture in the Durham community as a whole. Greg´s passionate concern for the Duke student-athlete was unmistakeable, and a godsend to the Duke coaches who were able to trust that in Greg´s guidance their athletes could turn to him regarding the sometimes difficult and often confidential issues that could arise in 21st century Division One athletics. Greg, while always a family man, took it on himself to include roughly 600 Duke varsity athletes to be part of his family. All of us in the Duke and greater Durham community were better off for his dedicated service to all of it´s members, and we mourn his too early passing, while wishing him eternal, everlasting peace above.
