James Pierce Obituary
June 17, 1966 - February 5, 2021
Wake Forest, North Carolina - James Edward Pierce, Jr., known to his family and friends as Jimmy, went home to be with the Lord, February 5th, at the age of 54.
Born on June 17, 1966 in Raleigh, he was the son of James Edward Pierce, Sr., and Barbara Pope Pierce. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Michelle Lamy Pierce, two daughters - Brooke (Brad) Putnam, Elizabeth Pierce, son - Lariston Pierce, grandson - Tyler James Putnam, sister - Lynn (John) Conway and many extended family members.
He grew up in Raleigh and attended Enloe High School. He was a dedicated worker with the City of Raleigh, working over 30 years at the Raleigh Convention Center before his 2017 retirement. Though he was never one to sit still, Jimmy enjoyed time with family, summer trips to the beach, and fishing with friends. He loved making people laugh and had a heart to serve others.
His memorial service will be held on February 11 at 2 p.m. at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church, 3328 Forestville Road, Raleigh, NC 27616. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice or Converting Hearts Ministry, PO Box 524, Creedmoor, NC 27522.

Jimmy, you have always been a dear and beloved friend and mentor, you were always there for your friends and co-workers and your smile and practical jokes have truly been missed since you retired, but most of all you made me feel like I was family. I love you Jimmy rest in peace Jimmy Jam
