Roman Tomczak Obituary
July 23, 1930 - December 24, 2023
Raleigh, North Carolina - Roman M. Tomczak of Raleigh passed away on December 24, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Anne Seymour Tomczak; his 3 daughters Cindy Heinlein (Bruce) , Jennifer Huggard (John) , and Ann Schwartz (Pete) ; step-children Emily Oliver (Ben Edwards) and Todd Oliver (Cindy). He also leaves behind his 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his first wife Shirley Treadway Tomczak.
Originally from Chicago, Illinois Tom served in the Army Corps of Engineers. He attended the University of Illinois and the Illinois Institute of Technology. He relocated to the Raleigh area while working for Tipper Tie in Apex, NC where he was an engineer and VP of Operations.
Tom was an active member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and he served as an usher for many years. He volunteered throughout his life serving as a volunteer fireman, volunteering at Catholic Parish Outreach and driving cancer patients to treatments.
The family would like to thank Golden Harmony, especially Morris and Lakesha, for their assistance over the last four years and the healthcare team at the Cardinal.
A memorial mass will be held Thursday, January 11th at St. Raphael Catholic Church. The family will begin greeting friends at 11:30 am and the service will begin at 12:30 pm.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Raphael Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.
