Virgil was a wonderful man and a very important part of my life. My dad was great friends with Virgil and was in my life from the time I was born until his passing in 2009 . Today was a special day as I´ve ventured back up on powderhorn Mountain for the first time in 44 years and I was able to visit Chuck´s gravesite. I recently had a dream of Virgil and the church on PowderHorn mountain. That dream lead me and my family there today and was such a special time of remembering Chuck and all the McBrides

Sue,
Words are hard to find at this time. I was in Durant with Mother and Daddy ( Aunt Virginia and Uncle Arthur) when we received the news of Virgil. Daddy of course is heartbroken and has told me many Virgil stories in the last few days. I remember him as the very dashing older cousin with the incredible vocabulary. Virgil called several times in the last month (after mother's fall) just to check in and give me pep talks about the care I was giving his Uncle Arthur and Aunt Virginia. His words were kind and generous and made me feel that I was in the right place and doing the right thing. Mother and Daddy were in far to poor health to travel to the service, but their hearts were right there with you today. Their love for their nephew was without measure and there is a hole in their lives without him.

Sue, so sorry about your loss of Virgil. May your friends and family be of comfort during this very sad time. As you know, he never met a stranger, assisted the lives of many and was loved by a lot of folks. We will all miss him and especially his golfing buddy.
