William Ferrell Obituary

OCTOBER 18, 1944 - MARCH 4, 2009
William Todd Ferrell, age 64, died peacefully Wednesday, March 04, 2009, at his home.
Though pulmonary fibrosis slowly took his breath away, he lived life to its fullest until the very end. Known by most as an avid musician, Todd brought rhythm and flair while drumming in a variety of bands spanning 40 plus years. His versatility and love for music allowed him to maneuver through various styles such as jazz, funk, rock, soul, and pop. When he was not playing drums, he was enjoying his passion for sports, cooking, nature and animals.
The family will receive friends 2:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, followed by a 3:00 p.m. memorial service. Reverend Jay Ellenburg will be officiating.
Todd Ferrell was born in Greensboro, NC and was the son of the late William Woodrow and Flora McDonald Ferrell. He worked and retired with the State of North Carolina Retirement System.
He is survived by one son, William Todd Ferrell, Jr. and his wife, Jill of Zebulon; one daughter, Michelle Ryals and her husband, Raymond of Clayton; three grandchildren, Hannah, Luke and Seth; his companion and caregiver, Mary Ann Styons; a devoted four-legged friend, Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Care or any Animal Protection Society.

I am a retired Camp Lejeune teacher & old friend of Mary Ann & Co. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to meet sweet Todd, & to see the joy that he brought to Mary Ann's heart. I think that the Lord sometimes needs a special angel for an important mission, & He only drafts the very best! I hope you can be comforted by your many special memories. Please know that you all are in my thoughts & prayers now & throughout the difficult days ahead....Love & prayers,
