Arthur Dixon Obituary

Arthur Allen Dixon Arthur Allen Dixon (Art) age 60, passed away on August 21 2009. A memorial will be held for Art Dixon on Friday, September 11 2009 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1373, located at 75 Boulevard Drive, Danbury. Art was born May 1, 1949 in Hudson NY, a 1968 graduate from Newtown High School and resident of the Danbury area for 45 years. He worked as a machinist and Construction Carpenter and he was currently employed with Andre Poulin Construction of Danbury. He was the son of the late Bernard George Dixon and his mother, Lois (Swartz) Dixon of Largo Fla. He was a dedicated member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge Danbury 1373 since 2002 where he shared many responsibilities in Moose sponsored family picnics, race parties, weekly bingo, the annual winter DIP to raise money for Charities, and spent many hours in the kitchen cooking for Moose sponsored parties, picnics, weekly dinners and special occasion holiday meals for the public. He also became a member of the Moose Legion in 2005, District Trustee in 2006, Moose Trustee and Family Active Chairman in 2007, State Sergeant at Arms in 2008 and was nominated as International Moose of the year 2008 to 2009 by the Moose International. He was certified in Food Safety and Sanitation for Food Service Mangers consistent with HACCP and the United States Food & Drug Administration Food Code. He is also survived by one son, Art Jr. of Florida; three daughters, Cathy of Florida, Julia and Brooke of North Carolina; two grandchildren Nicholas and Gabriel of Florida; three sisters, Corinda Dixon and Bernice Geanuracos of Florida, Jacqueline Camp of New Jersey; one brother, Larry of Connecticut; personal friend, Diane Mottollo of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, Julia, Brooke and the family request donations be made to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1373 Danbury Kids Fund. A private burial will be held at the family convenience.

Julie and Brookie,
Your dad's eyes light up with just the thought of you.You will always be watched over by daddy he loved you both so very much.
