Arthur Dale Piper
Arthur Dale Piper ascended into heaven peacefully on Sunday, November 17th, 2024, where he was reunited with his beloved wife of 47 years, June. Art was born in Port Chester, New York on October 30, 1940, to Frank and Elsie Piper. Art was predeceased by not only the love of his life, but also by his parents and brothers, Frank and Paul.
Arthur joined the Navy in 1960 where he served as a communication specialist IC3. He met June in March of 1965, and they married that same December at a wedding ceremony in England. They began their married life in Dayton, Ohio while Art was working at NCR, then moved back east to Port Chester, New York, and finally settled in New Milford in 1973. Art worked for TAG in New York and then later co-created Whole Solutions in Woodbury, CT until he retired in 2013. In recent years, Art has been fortunate to travel and stay with his sons and daughters throughout CT, VA, and FL.
If one word could describe what Art loved most it would be Family. He loved making Sunday breakfast, cheering on all his kids in all their activities, being on the water and watching the Green Bay Packers play.
Art is survived by his six children; Darren Piper and his children Ashley Sawicki with husband Zachary and son Jackson, Michael Piper with wife Kachina, and Haley; John Piper with wife Sue and their son Ryan; Debra McGuire with her significant other Stephen Spampinato and her daughters Samantha and Jade; Heidi Piper and her children Grace and Jack; Kevin Piper with wife Lori and their children Brittany Ingram with husband Tristan, Eric, Mark, and Nicholas; and Kimberly Robinson with husband Richard and their daughters Junelise and Piper. He also leaves behind his brothers, Ronald Piper and Lee Piper with wife Janet, and countless nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 1st at St. John's Episcopal Church, 7 Whittlesey Ave., New Milford, CT, at 12 p.m. followed by military honors in front of the church. Donations may be made to the Diebold Cancer Center, 21 Elm Street, New Milford, CT or the Regional Hospice Center of Danbury, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT 06810.
