Peter James Galasso

Peter J. Galasso Peter James Galasso,age 61 of Bethel, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Danbury Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of Patricia Ann (Serafin) Galasso. He was born in Stamford, October 20, 1948, son of Mary (Schiano) Galasso of Norwalk and the late Joseph S. Galasso. He was a graduate of Rippowam High School, Class of 1966 and joined the Marine Corps during the Viet Nam War. After the Marines, he joined Ring's End Lumber where he worked for more than 30 years up until the time of his death, most recently at the New Milford store. Besides his wife of 41 years and his mother, he is survived by his son, Peter M. Galasso and his wife, Lisa of Dover, Del.; daughter, Traci A. Doo-lan and her husband, Mark of Bethel; brother, Vincent R. Galasso and his wife, Sandra of Norwalk; four grandchildren, Isabella, Matthew, Patrick and Nichole; mother-in-law, Margaret L. Serafin of Bethel; sister-in-law, Debra Anderson and her husband, Herb of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his daughter, Trisha Ann Galasso. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Bethel, Monday afternoon at 1. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel. The family will receive friends in the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury, Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
