Roland Edward Willey Jr., 79

MILFORD - Roland Edward Willey Jr., died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, in his home surrounded by loving family. He was 79. He was the son of the late Pearl Willey Hickman and Jacob Hickman, and was preceded in death by brothers, Gene Willey and Morris "Bob" Willey. Roland was an avid Phillies baseball fan. He was a member of Milford and Harrington Senior Centers, Teamsters Local 326, and Moose Lodge 534. He was a driver with T.I.E., Masten's, and Red Star Companies, retiring with 35 years service in 1987. He won numerous awards including 1980 and 1982 D.M.T.A. Truck Rodeo first place trophies. Roland was generous with his electrical and handyman talents for his beloved family and friends. Roland will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Lillian Willey; his three children, Christian Willey (and Barbara), Daniel Willey (and Lorraine) and Linda Willey-Impagliazzo (and Al); his five grandchildren, Stephanie Prebula, Carolyn Willey, Andrew Willey, Lindsey Impagliazzo and Casey Impagliazzo; and great-grandson Zachary Prebula. He is survived by his sisters, Louise Aiken, and Joyce Ann Porter (and Eugene); and brother, Allen Hickman (and Sue); half-brothers, Wendell and Bobby Willey; and beloved nieces and nephews. At the request of Mr. Willey, services will be private. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; or to Bayhealth Home Health Care, 105 King's Hwy., Milford, DE 19963; or any charity of your choice. Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home.

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of such a wonderful man. They just don't come any better. Our heart felt condolences go out to all who loved him so dearly. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. May God bless you and keep you comforted by all of the wonderful memories you have.
