Heinz Stock Obituary

Heinz Stock
October 7, 1946 - December 11, 2021
Heinz Peter Stock, 75, of Milford, passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2021. He was born in Germany to Heinz Alfred and Anneliese Stock on October 7, 1946.
He graduated from Eli Whitney High School in 1966, and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of New Haven. Upon graduation from UNH in 1970, he worked at Westville Electric before joining the George Ellis Company in New Haven, CT, for over 40 years, eventually becoming the Vice President of Engineering. Over the course of his career, he designed and oversaw installation of HVAC systems all over Connecticut, including such iconic landmarks as Schick in Milford, and Yale University. While at George Ellis, he fostered many lifelong friendships and acquaintances, both inside and outside his profession.
He married Linda Smith on September 6, 1969, and remained her devoted husband until her death in 2014. Together, they shared a love of life, food, music, and traveling up to two times a year with best friends Walt and Wendy Zientek. Among others, they traveled to Antigua, St. Kitt's, and Barbados, but their absolute favorite place to be was on the white sand beaches of Aruba. They welcomed sons Jeremy, in 1973, then Kristofer came next in 1978, and Michael in 1979.
As a young man, Heinz recalled fond memories of growing up in the Fair Haven Heights section of New Haven, working at Hummel's as a teenager, and being a part of the Waterbury Soccer Club team. Later on, he would come to enjoy playing racquetball and golf, and was a huge fan of world league soccer.
Anyone who knew Heinz knew no end to his generosity and positivity, and his kind spirit, and family and friends meant the world to him. He loved chocolate, and had a huge sweet tooth, especially for Cadbury Mini Eggs. He always stayed up to date on his favorite TV shows, like Ray Donovan and The Blacklist, and he never missed Jeopardy! He also had a particular fondness for the Broadway musical Man of La Mancha.
He is survived by his three sons, Jeremy, Kristofer, and Michael, as well as his beloved grandchildren Maia and Harrison. He also is survived by brother Frank and sister Petra, as well as mother in law, Irene Smith, and brother in law Dean Smith, sisters in law Paula Smith and Dawn Carlson. Predeceased by beloved wife Linda and brother Dietrich.
Memorial services will be from 11am-2pm on Saturday March 26, 2022 at Wildemere Congregational Church 133 Broadway Milford CT

Dear Michael, Kristofer, Jeremy and family -- I'm so very sorry for the loss of your wonderful father. I worked with him for 30 years and he always had a smile, a funny story and a cup of dunkin' donuts coffee for me! His family was his world and he loved sharing stories and pictures at the office. He was a kind hearted, generous soul and he will be missed so very much. I cherish my memories and will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. He's finally home with your mom, resting easy and smiling down on you. Love, Katie and Guy Bimonte
