John D'Amato Obituary
John C. D'Amato, 83, beloved husband of Ellen D'Amato of Westerly passed away on February 1, 2021.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, John was the late son of Dr. Louis and Anna D'Amato.
John was the owner of D'Amato Brothers Builders for the last 60 years with his brother, Louis D'Amato.
He was a graduate of the State University of NY and a veteran in the US Army. He enjoyed traveling especially to Italy but Westerly was his home. He was a communicant of St. Clare Church.
John's greatest pride, joy and dedication was to his family. There was nothing that mattered more to him than his family.
John will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Ellen D'Amato, his four children Elizabeth D'Amato, John D'Amato (Laurie), Suzanne Johns and Cheryl D'Amato, his grandsons John, Nicholas, Daniel, Thomas and Craig, his brother Louis D'Amato (Theresa) and his nephews Louis and James.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare Church, 62 Crandall Avenue, Westerly, RI on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 10 a.m. All are invited to meet directly at the church. Seating capacity limits are 125 in the church, social distancing guidelines and other public health directives (i.e. use of facemasks are required) will be in place. Burial will follow with military honors at Milford Cemetery, Milford, CT.
