John Nowicki Obituary

Nowicki, John
John Peter Nowicki, M.D. died on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the son of the late John Joseph and Adele (Alechnowicz) Nowicki. He leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, the former Patricia Maureen Maloney, and his children, John William Nowicki and Katherine Maureen Nowicki and her fiancé Robert McCluskey. He is also survived by his sisters, Susan Durst and Elizabeth (Alexander) Currin of Maryland.
John was a graduate of Milford High School in the class of 1963. He then graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 1967. He then pursued pharmacology training at the University of Maryland. In May of 1970 he was drafted into the Army and sent to Korea for the next three years. He began his Medical training at UCONN Medical Center in Connecticut and graduated in 1979 and then started his sole medical practice of Internal Medicine in Milford and retired in November of 2014.
John loved his practice and his patients and missed them all very much when he retired. His other interests that he pursued through many years were his always successful vegetable garden and his love for honeybees which he began when he was 12 years old. Many of his friends and family looked forward to his jars of honey that he extracted himself and gave away to many of his fans. He also had magnificent blueberry bushes where many friends and family members came to pick his well-known labors of love. John will be missed by many people and we will always remember his generosity to others. May he always rest in peace.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment with Military Honors will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford. Friends and family may call on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
