Today marks the 43rd anniversary of losing my big brother, Mark. He was only 17, I was 15 - and not a day has gone by that I haven´t carried him with me.
On November 11th, 2024, I hit a point where I was either going to keep self-destructing or change my life. That night, I prayed - and I know Mark heard me. With God´s help, and with Mark having His ear, I was given the strength and foundation I needed to turn it all around. I´ve been clean and sober since that day.
It´s been a long road of understanding what I´d lost inside myself all those years, but I finally found it again. My brother gave me that chance.
I know it´ll be a while before we hug again, but when that day comes, I´ll be whole. Until then, I honor him every single day by living the life I was supposed to.
Thank you, Mark. I love you, big brother.
