Mildred Edith Hill
Mildred Edith Hill 94, of Stony Creek peacefully passed away August 9, 2023. "Edie" was born February 8, 1929, in New Sharon, Maine to Mildred L. (Neal) and John R. Works.
She is predeceased by her husband John F. Hill, who passed in 2002, and five brothers, James, Leon, Milton "Bud", John and Melvin Works, all of Maine.
Edith is survived by her three children, Shirley (Wayne) Collins of Westbrook, Janet (Michael) Demers of New Hampshire and John Hill (Timothy Young) of New York and four grandchildren and their families, Jeffrey (Merrill) and sons Denali and Birch, Matthew (Melanie) and son Jack and Timothy (Kate) and daughters, Eleanor, Penelope and Hazel Collins all of Connecticut and Tiffany Demers (Alex) Dutton of Colorado. She is also survived by her sister, Marion "Etta" Suits of Florida and a sister-in-law, Louise Works of Maine.
Edie led an active life, even into her later years. She enjoyed cross-country skiing, birding, traveling, reading and was a talented seamstress and crafter. For many years, she was an active member of the Stony Creek Congregational Church.
A private service will be held at a later date.

To the family of Edie, I am so very sorry for your loss. Edie was such a wonderful, sweet person. I used to walk to elementary school with her son John Scott & she would comb my hair before we left. My family & I lived next door.
