Nancy Rogers Obituary

Rogers, Nancy
Nancy Carol Rogers, age 75, of Huntington, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Connecticut Hospice of Branford. She was born in Bridgeport on May 21, 1945, loving daughter of the late David and Rose Cowan. Nancy was a graduate of Shelton High School who went on to receive her Master's Degree in Education from Southern Connecticut State University. She worked as a special education teacher at Beecher Road School in the Amity School District. Later in her career, Nancy worked as a Travel and Real Estate agent.
Nancy was a devout communicant and active member of St. Lawrence Parish in Huntington, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, also serving as a Catechism Teacher at Trinity Church in Woodbridge. She spent her leisure time skiing, boating and golfing. Nancy loved to travel and one of her highlight trips was to Jerusalem to visit the Holy Land with Father Markee. She will be buried with her rosary from the Vatican. Most of all, Nancy loved to spend time with her family and many friends. She will be sadly missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts.
Nancy's loving family includes her two sons Ted Rogers and his wife Julie of New Haven and David Rogers of Tampa, her brother John Cowan of California, her sister Shirley (Cowan) Gabenelli of Derby and her cherished grandsons Parker, Elliot, Spencer, Tyler and Tanner. She was also survived by her loving friend of 20 years Vince Mastronardi of Seymour.
A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Parish and burial in the family plot at Lawn Cemetery, both in Huntington, will take place in the Spring. There are no current services planned.
In lieu of flowers, memory gifts in Nancy's memory may be made to either Connecticut Hospice in Branford or The Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven, both through the funeral home.
The Miller-Ward Funeral Home of Seymour is compassionately caring for the family.
