R. Ciociola Obituary

R. Tony Ciociola, NHFD, Retired
On June 19th, 2021, Tony Ciociola, passed away at his home with his wife by his side. Born in New Haven, CT on May 21, 1971, Tony was the husband of Christina M. Ciociola and devoted father to Reese Anne Ciociola. He is survived by his mother Barbara Lipsett Ciociola, brother Marc (Lisa), and in-laws Joseph and Barbara Mascari. Tony is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father Robert Alan Ciociola.
Born and raised in New Haven, Tony started his career as a New Haven Firefighter in the Hill section of New Haven on Engine 11 in the same neighborhood where his grandparents lived when they started their life in New Haven. He retired as the driver of Truck 3 in Fairhaven. Throughout his career he received numerous qualifications and unit citations for his training and performance on the job. He was one of thousands of firefighters who went to New York City to assist in the search and rescue efforts in the aftermath of 9/11. Prior to his retirement Tony loved the work of firefighting and enjoyed the camaraderie and brotherhood of the firehouse.
Tony attended Saint Bernadette School in Morris Cove and is a graduate of Notre Dame High School in West Haven where he lettered in football and track. He attended Hebron Academy in Maine where he was on the football and wrestling teams and attended Northeastern University. He was an avid cook and enjoyed spending time boating, fishing and scuba diving. Tony was a member of Indian Neck Yacht Club and proud to be a 32nd Degree Freemason belonging to Wooster Lodge # 79 in New Haven. Above all else being a father to Reese brought him the greatest joy in life. He will be remembered as a kind, loyal, loving and fun husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Bernadette Church in St.Pio of Pietrlcina Parish, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven on Thursday, June 24th to attend a Mass of Chirstian Burial at 11 a.m. There are no visiting hours.
