Vincent Consiglio Obituary
Vincent "Jimmy Dogs" Consiglio, Jr. of New Haven died unexpectedly at his home on December 4, 2021. He was born in New Haven on August 11, 1951, to Margaret "Bootsie" Chieppo Consiglio and the late Vincent "Jimmy the Apple" Consiglio.
A talented athlete and sports lover, Jimmy played softball for Bender Highlanders semi-pro team. In 1991 he was the player, manager, coach and sponsor of ChecKing softball team. They were a powerhouse team that won the regionals in 1992, the Corporate World Tournament in 1999, the ASAB National Championship in Tupelo Mississippi in 2009 and the PIF Canadian Softball Tournament in 2010. He also played quarterback in the flag football league.
Jimmy was an animal lover, especially dogs, and spent many afternoons feeding the birds in his backyard. He enjoyed spending time at his family's home in Florida.
Jimmy loved and cared for his mother Bootsie and was the father of Christopher (Aimee), Stephen and Vincent "Jimmy" Consiglio III. He was a proud grandfather of Christopher Dominic and Margaret James Consiglio and was predeceased by his sister Nancy Consiglio.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8pm in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Pl., New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael Church Thursday morning at 11am. It´s beyond amazing the impact some people can have on our lives, and Big Jim was a savior for me. I know he´s touched many people in several different ways but his aura was addicting. He always remained positive thru the most trying of times and I can say he was more than a second father to me, and has never hesitated to have my back when I needed him the most. I pray for his family, and most especially Junior and Bootsie. This is a tough loss for a lot of us, and may we hug our own loved ones a bit tighter for we don´t know when we will part. The world lost a solid, giving person, and nay God rest his soul. Condolences to the Consiglio family.
