David Howarth Obituary
Born in Summit, Dave was a resident of Sandyston for 18 years before moving to Hampton. He was the meat manager/cutter at Hayek's Market in Newton, for the past 15 years. He had previously worked for Acme Markets for 25 years. A man who was devoted to his family, Dave also enjoyed fishing and golf.
The son of the late Harry William and Loretta (Yukniewicz) Howarth, Dave is survived by his wife of 42 years, Karen (Widgren) Howarth; his daughter, Gretchen E. Torres and husband, Jesse, of Lafayette; his son, Tyler W. Howarth, of Sandyston; and five grandchildren, Hayden, Trent, Erik, Ella and Cooper. He is also survived by two sisters, Lorraine Perry and husband, Jacob, of Frankford, and Sandra Howarth and fiancé, Michael Brandt, of Frankford; a brother, Harry Howarth, of Hampton; as well as many nephews, one niece, and one great-niece.
Funeral services will be held at noon today, at the First Presbyterian Church of Newton, 54 High St., Newton. Visitation will be held today, from 10 a.m. to noon at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, N.J. 07860 or Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K Street NW, Suite 800, Washington, D.C. 20005 (www.melanoma.org).
Dave's wish would be to encourage everyone to take the opportunity to spend time with those you love.

I am so sad to see this. Dave was a great guy and always greated you with a warm smile. We moved away a few years ago but whenever i went back home I would be sure to stop in and see if I could get some Turkey Burgers as he made them the best. Prayers and sympathy being sent.

I am a long time customer of Hayek's Market and frequently visited to pick up odds and ends. David always had a contagious smile and there was never a day where he didn't go out of his way to say Hi and greet the customers.

I remember Dave when he worked at Acme in Sparta so many moons ago, and I remember fondly how he would tease my mom at Hayek's about her hair and nails after she went to the beauty salon.
