Dear Al,
Just wanted to say that you will always be remembered by the brothers at Engine #9, NOFD. We love you and we ask you to please watch over us as we walk along this way of life.
I got a little chuckle when I went out to see you at the cemetery. I asked how to find you and the care taker said you where not there, I thought to myself, well, where in the world are you then, well he said you would be back in the near future for burial. Anyway, it would be just like you to play a fast one on me.
With much love and devotion, you’re Fire Chaplain Brother Ed or as you would call me Monsignor Ed ? we love you Al!
Pray for us!
Brother Ed and the NOFD and our brothers at Quincy, they also send greetings to you from me.

I thank God everyday for my dad! He was the best dad a girl could ask for! He would always make me laugh and tell me not to worry about things that were bothering me. He loved his job, and he made us so proud! I will miss him so much, but I am glad he is not suffering anymore. I know he is watching over us.

Al was always the one which showed a uncommon amount of good sense when we were growing up in Kenner. Didn't matter if we were hunting rabbits, or at Lucky Cue, Al was always the one you could count on to do the right thing. Guess he couldn't help but become a firefighter. He was always looking to help. You'll be missed by all that ever knew you.
