August Gassiot Obituary

GASSIOT August J. Gassiot, Jr., 76, beloved husband of Maria Seidl Gassiot, died on Monday, May 29, 2006. Son of the late August Gassiot and Ella Bourgeois. Endeared father of John Gassiot of West Palm Beach, FL, Katharina 'Kitty' Isemann, Shirley Gassiot and August 'Sonny' Gassiot. Step-brother of Robert Gassiot, Tony Gassiot, Aline Noel and the late Alfred Bertacci. Paw-Paw will be sadly missed by his four grandchildren Tiffany V. Isemann, Kimberly Isemann, Kellie Isemann, and Brittany Gassiot. Junior will be fondly remembered by his son-in-law, Raymond Isemann, and daughters-in-law, Denise and Cindy Gassiot.Auggie, a Veteran of the US Army, retired from NOPSI after 30 years of service. He participated in the St. Charles Streetcar Revitalization Project and served as president of the Co-operative Street Railways Shop Employees Association. The family wishes to express special thanks to his angels at Kenner Regional Medical Center and River Region Hospice House who cared for him and his family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be said at THARP SONTHEIMER FUNERAL HOME, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. at 43rd St., Metairie, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 1, 2006. Interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 8:30 AM until service time.

I never met your Paw Paw Tiffany, but from the conversations that we had, I know that he was a very loving, caring and special New Orleans Man.
