Christopher Virgil Pettigrew

Christopher Virgil Pettigrew passed away October 13, 2021, and is now at peace, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his soulmate and the love of his life, Georgi Ann Clark of Trinidad, Co. He is also survived by his father and stepmother Robert and Sheila Pettigrew of Spring Branch, TX. and siblings Stephanie Leff (Barry) of Memphis, TN, Venetia Zachritz (Walter) of Asheville, NC, Ariana Pettigrew (Brian Garvey) of Austin, TX, Nicole Beall of Texas and Danielle Beall Kemp of Scotland. Chris is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Benjamin Leff (Kelly) of Houston, TX, Mitchell Leff of Atlanta, GA, Melissa Zachritz (Kenny Pratt) of Denver, and Sara Zachritz (Anthony Baldo) of Tuscon, AZ. He was preceded in death by his mother Helga Bober Pettigrew. A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Chris traveled the world during his early years working in the energy sector, including Egypt, The Bering Sea, Alaska, and Brazil. He was a long-time resident of Gretna, Louisiana where He was an active member of St. Andrew The Apostle Catholic Church. As a nature and outdoor enthusiast, he was a dedicated volunteer for the Audubon Institute Aquarium of The Americas in New Orleans as well as Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, LA. Chris settled in Pueblo, Colorado in 2004 and found happiness in exploring the mountains in his jeep and motorcycles and enjoyed a successful career as Manager of Commercial Roofing Division of LE Roofing. Chris had a passion for life and lived for adventure. He will always be remembered and loved for his humor, storytelling, and generosity to his friends, neighbors, and family. A private ceremony in celebration of his life will take place at a future date. The family is sincerely grateful for all the dedicated staff and doctors for the care he received at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center, St. Mary Corwin Hospital, and Parkview Hospital in Pueblo.
