Crystal Gregoire King

Crystal Gregoire King on Friday, December 8, 2023 at her home in Baton Rouge, LA surrounded by family and friends. Crystal was educated in the St. John the Baptist Parish public school system and graduated as the first African American Valedictorian from Leon Godchaux High School in 1978. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. Crystal's career spanned 35 years with DOW Corporation achieving success in various roles, and functions at multiple locations of Freeport and Seadrift, TX; Midland, MI; Plaquemine and Napoleonville, LA with a return of her most current role as Site Leader of Louisiana Operations in Plaquemine, Louisiana. Crystal is survived by her daughter, Shelby Taylor King; brother, Darryl Charles Gregoire; 2 aunts, Geneva Gregoire of LaPlace, LA and Bobbie McLemore of Detroit, MI; 1 nephew, Daronne Davis of Los Angeles, CA; 1 great-niece, Laliah Davis of Houston, TX; and a host of Godchildren, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends including her DOW family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Gregoire and Allene Meekins Gregoire; Grandparents, Kalsaw and Gertie Himes Gregoire, and Robert and Nellie Johnson Meekins. Age 61 years. A native of Reserve, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
