Eric Miler Obituary

Eric Martin Miler, 03/03/1965 - 05/07/2022. Eric Martin Miler passed away peacefully at his home in Austin, Texas due to complications from a stroke he suffered ten years prior. He was a graduate of Metairie Park Country Day and Delgado in New Orleans. He loved basketball and led the Country Day Cajuns to a district championship in 1984. He was a lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. Eric loved good food and pursued this passion by working at some of New Orleans' finest restaurants, including the Palace Cafe and NOLA. He enjoyed sharing his cooking skills with friends and family. He was a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and was the sometimes singer in the party band The Newtones with his brother Tim and good friend Donald Newton. After Hurricane Katrina, he left New Orleans and relocated to Austin, Texas. After suffering a stroke in 2012, he retired from work and enjoyed his life by traveling and spending time with loved ones and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Luhring Miler; his father Martin Conry Miler; and nephew Garrett Pearson Miler. He is survived by his brother Stuart Scott Miler, sister-in-law Lori Ledebauche Miler, nephew Conry Scott Miler and his wife Ivy Miler of Nashville, Tennessee; his brother, Timothy Conry Miler, sister-in-law Melanie Cole Miler and niece, Wesley Anne Miler, of Leander, Texas; his brother Joe Miler, his wife, Nicole Miler and niece, Lola Miler, of New Orleans and sister Gail Luhring Miler of Buena Vista, Colorado. Donations in Eric Miler's name can be made to the American Heart Association.

Eric was such a wonderful person- kind, generous, funny, supportive, and and a gentleman. He will be greatly missed by family snd friends, but his memory will live on in the hearts and memories of so many, near and far.
