Frank Trapani Obituary

Frank Anthony Trapani, born July 8, 1943, passed away on January 7, 2024 as a result of an accident. He grew up in New Orleans and Metairie and was a longtime resident of Laplace and Kenner. Frank, a navy veteran, was known for his patriotism, loyalty, sense of humor, fierce work ethic, and, most importantly, his love for his family and friends. He had a long, successful, and impactful career in real estate, owning his own company as well as working with ERA, Gertrude Gardner, and Latter and Blum. Throughout his career he acquired numerous accreditations and accolades, always furthering his real estate knowledge to better serve his clients and his agents. He served in leadership roles with the Saints Board of Realtors, the Tangipahoa Board of Realtors, the Home Builders Association, the Commercial Investment Division, the National Association of Realtors, and the New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors. Highlights of his career include serving as the Louisiana Association of Realtors President and being a Commissioner with the Louisiana Real Estate Commission, at one time serving as Chairman for the latter. Upon retiring from management with Latter and Blum in 2020, he continued sharing his knowledge as an instructor at Donaldson Real Estate School. In his younger years Frank raced boats and enjoyed lifelong friendships in the New Orleans Power Boat Association. An avid Corvette enthusiast, he was a member of the Greater New Orleans Corvette Club, where he formed more cherished friendships. He was known for his quick wit, loyalty, and devotion to his close friends. However, Frank's most important and best role was being a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family. He is survived by his loving wife Meg Trapani; daughter Tina Trapani Lucas; son Tony Trapani (Christian); daughter Nicole Trapani Verdin (Kirk); son Benton Bourgeois (Danielle); grandchildren Marissa, Dylan, Layla, AJ, River, Cameron, Lana, Paige, Cy, Tatum, Hollie, and Katrina; great grandchildren Kayden and Xylan; brother Anthony Trapani, Jr. ( Elaine); sister Tahna Trapani Martin; sister Connie Fuselier; sisters-in-law Cindy Catalano (Vince) and Ann Alderete (Dan); and many nieces and nephews. Frank is preceded in death by his father Anthony Raymond Trapani, Sr.; his mother Mildred Toups Trapani; son-in-law Roscoe Lucas; brother-in-law Steven Martin; sister-in-law Mary McCrocklin McClung; and the mother of his children Sylvia Trapani. Frank loved his Corvettes, traveling with his beloved wife Meg, everything outdoors, and he especially loved his constant companion Dugan. Visitation will be on Thursday January 11, 2024 from 9:30 am - 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at Lake Lawn Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. All family and friends are invited to celebrate his life.
