Henry Cohn Obituary

Henry J. Cohn Jr., born June 28, 1948, in Monroe, Louisiana, departed this life to be with our Lord and Savior on June 15, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Marilyn Cohn, and proud children, Paul (Elizabeth) and Daniel; Stepmother, Jane Cohn; Siblings, John Dye (Louise), Janis Webb, Patricia Cluck (Darrell), David Cohn (Linda), Michael Cohn (Lori), Joanna McMullen (Freddie); numerous nieces and nephews; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, the Albano, Conzelmann, and Toups families. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Cohn, Sr. and Bettye Gallagher, his brother, William Cohn, and his sister, Susan Midyett. Henry, who spent the majority of his life in the New Orleans area, graduated cum laude from Tulane University. He always enjoyed problem solving, which led him to his love for computer programming. He retired as a Senior I.T. Consultant from Entergy, Inc. and recently worked for HCL America. Henry devoted his life to faith and family. He loved people and never met a stranger. He was a scout leader and an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved LSU and New Orleans Saints football, and enjoyed traveling around the world. He left a lasting impact on all he met, particularly his family, including brothers and sisters-in-law, whom he loved dearly. He was a masterful storyteller who entertained and encouraged his family and friends with his elaborate stories and words of wisdom. Henry leaves a legacy of faith, love, and kindness. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home at 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 with a mass to follow beginning at 2:00 PM.
