Oh my where do I start. Dr Cook and you Camille, had a great part in forming my life, values and how do treat people with kindness. Working for him and you, Camille, was like my second family. We sure did have some good times and we never knew what pranks were going to be played by AB, Ed Randle, Floppy etc. Remember the big key on the back of the Corvette. I could go on but it is time for me to tell you I am a better person today because of the friendship and guideness he gave me. MIckey shares these thoughts with me and also sends our love to all of you, Camille, Barbara and Tommy and all the grandchildren. The world will miss a Doctor that was Doctor of all no matter what time or day.OOPs golf on Wed afternoon with Mr Vivien and the rest.
We love you Camille , Barbara and Tommy.

Dear Aunt Camille and family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolances. A loss of this magnitude is never easy but the legacy can be quite comforting. I'll share with you an interesting story. A few years ago I was selling a house in uptown N.O. to a gentleman and his wife. They were quite gaurded and defensive at the begining of the transaction. Over the coarse of a couple of weeks, "yes, I want the...No, I don't want the house...yes I do...etc..." Finally I asked them to meet me for coffee and lets settle this once and for all. From the onset of the initial meeting with these folks, all I really knew was that he was a doctor. So we meet and they were 40 minutes late. They were very apologetic and explained that there was construction on I-10 and they were travelling from Slidell where they lived and he practiced. I said "Gee, its been many years since I've been to Slidell. My grand mother, aunt and uncle lived there and maybe he knew my uncle as he was a doctor also but had retired several years ago." The clint asked who is your uncle? I told him Henry Cook and his wife Camille is my father's sister. Well, let me tell you, the man was thrilled and spoke of Henry in the highest regard possible and told me a few great stories about Henry. I clearly remember him saying, "Henry, (though I do think he reffered to him as Tom)has a raw talent and natural instinct you don't learn in med school. He's one of the greatest out there." The client went on to say that deep down he disliked all real estate agents because he always felt he was getting taken advantage of everytime he bought or sold. He said that if Henry's your uncle, well then you "have to be OK." He opened up to what his issues were, we solved his issues and now he and his wife still happily have their "peid-a-terre" in the Garden District. Small world isn't it?
Love and best for you always,
Fred Buras

"Larger Than Life" is the term that comes to mind when I think of Dr. Cook. He was truly a legend in his own time - they don't make 'em like that any more! I know that you will miss him, but what wonderful memories he leaves! My deepest sympathy to Camille, Barbara, Tommy, Leslie, Beau, and all the family

Dear Barbara,
My heart is breaking for you. I have so many lovely memories of your Dad and his big dogs, particularly Beau. It seems just like yesterday that he pulled me out of the pool at your mom and dad's house. Your Dad was a prince of a man.

With love to the Cook Family,
I remember my visits to Dr. Cook's office fondly. His playful manner made a scary situation into a bonding moment. I also remember being told many stories of adventures shared by my dad and Dr. Cook. Slidell is a better place because of his impact, but it will never be the same because of his loss.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Cook family today. My grandparents were some of Dr Cook's first patients when came to Slidell and he remained our family physician until his retirement. I can vividly remember the office visits I had as a child with Dr Cook and his team; Nurse Miller, Bruce and Ann Jeannette. He was always patient and kind as he calmed me down before and after those shots! He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

My prayers are with Ms. Camile Barbara, and Tommy. I have so many fond memories of Dr. Cook. He took such great care of me for 18 years until I moved away from Slidell. I also remember him as a friend and neighbor. I remember as a child Dr. Cook had the biggest dog I had ever seen. His name was Humdinger. Thanks for all those beautiful memories. Sleep well my friend.
Blessings,
