Irma Hunter Obituary

Irma Young Hunter entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the age of 93. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Beloved wife of the late Mason Hunter, Sr. Devoted mother of Mason (Adrian) Hunter, Jr., Cynthia (Arthur) Banks, Lear (Rickey) Owens, and the late Terry B. Hunter. Daughter of the late John and Flora Young. Sister of Ida Robertson, Carol Cooke, Gene (Carolyn) Young, and the late Annie Y. Smith, Albert Young, and Richard Young. Mother-in-law of Pamela Hunter. Sister-in-law of Laura, Jessie, Ozean, Evelyn, and Betty. Godmother of Donna Marie Blake. Special friend of Susie Williams, and Toni DeCuire, also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of The Men and Ladies Lion Aid Social Club of Harvey are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church, 817 Grefer Avenue, Harvey, LA on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Keith Paul Stewman, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Evening Star Cemetery #1 Harvey, LA. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA. To view and sign the guestbook, please go to www.davismortuaryservice.com.
