Well it has been three years Pastor Magee has been with the Lord. Family all I can say is every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every month and every year will be a push and a press of endurance. I never like to tell anyone the Lord would not put more on you than you can bear because I feel in my heart I can’t believe losing a love one is easy and it will be hard to bear when they are no longer here. I have comfort in knowing that the life you all shared with him will always be treasured in your hearts and that someone is up there always watching over you guys. Keep the Faith until we all get to Heaven and what a Day of Rejoicing it will be. First Lady Magee, Pastor Jay, Shontell, and Shalondra I love you all even when I’m not with you. Amen and God Bless!!

How do you say I'm sorry for your loss, how do you say I'm never going to see him again, how can you say his heart was big like Christ. First Lady there will be good and bad days for you I can only imagine, Jay, Shontell, and Shalondra I can really not imagine what to say to a wonderful family of kids whom I admire whenever I see y'all warm smiles. I'm still in shock and can't bring myself to tell my son or my mom in her state that their Pastor is gone. Who would have ever thought the last time I would see him was in April this year coming to comfort us while he was ailing but I can say he fought a good fight and he ran a great race for Jesus to the end. Now Pastor Magee you can sing all day long, bust that Pentecost swag Holy Ghost dance, and always be seated at Jesus feet to hear the Angels cry Holy, Holy,Holy Lord. Love you all and my heart is heavy with sorrow but I will lift you all up daily for God to comfort each and everyone of you during your bereavement.

I was greatly surprised to hear of Jessie's passing! I am sure he will be greatly missed! He was such a sweet and humble person and I am sure he was a terrific pastor. I don't remember him as a pastor but as a fellow member of our No. 2 Choir at St. Rose Baptist Church. I am fond members of him. To the family I say: be strong and rest in the loving arms of Jesus and he will see you through! I know it is hard and only time and the love of God will take you through. Praying for all of you!

It feels like just yesterday I was told that I "had to hear" Pastor Magee preach. Almost 21 years ago I had the opportunity to hear his word and never left his fold. From sitting in his living room watching TV and petting the dog, Jazz, and eating too many Jack's chocolate chip cookies and watermelon that he lovingly grew and shared, we are saying an earthly goodbye. Your teachings of information and sermons of inspiration shaped me into who I am spiritually. Our last bible study was short but meaningful yet also funny. It will be hard, but you left us in great hands with the ministry. We will do you proud as we continue serving God through your legacy.

I spent this summer visiting New Orleans with my Aunt Sharon and the beautiful members of Deliverance Baptist Church.
I felt so revived and lifted from the words of Pastor Jessie. He had of way of making me laugh, giving me hope, and inspiring me despite the obstacles I felt were taking away my happiness.
I always felt renewed after hearing him speak. He was quite the jokester with the love of God in his heart. He always made me and my Aunt laugh!
A part of me feels sad he is no longer with us, but the larger part of me knows he is with his Heavenly Father as he intended.
Jessie was a gift from above, so thank you Magee family for sharing him with us.
He has truly brought everyone within the sound of his voice back to God.
A life well lived--completely honoring God.
Blessings to you Jessie, and I wish peace and comfort to the Magee family during this time of bereavement.

There will never ever be another pastor to me like you were, you taught me so much in the past 21yrs how to love ❤ everybody in spite of there short comings.
