Joseph Johnson Obituary

JOHNSON Rev. Joseph Johnson Jr., B.S., C.P.E., D.D.TH entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 12, 2010. He was born December 13, 1952 to Elouise Young Johnson and the late Rev. Floria J. Johnson. He was a native of Edgard, La and resided in Laplace, La. He was the devoted husband of Dianne Allen Johnson for Thirty-two years and the loving father of Joseph III, Philomene, Timothy, Benjamin and Daniel Johnson. Rev. Johnson was the loving grandfather of Mitchell Ethan, Christian Ari, Elijah and Jazara Johnson. Pastor Johnson was the loving brother of Raymond, Anthony, Leonard, Mary Ann Armant, Dianne Terry of Edgard, La, Pastor Rose Grant of Winnsboro, La., and the late Abraham Johnson and Cynthia Borne. He was the Son-in-Law of Mae Ida Allen and the late Willie Allen Sr., of St. Francisville, La. Rev. Johnson was the dedicated and humble Pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church of Edgard, La, and Philadelphia Baptist Church of Hahnville and a member of Second District Missionary Association Inc, President and Founder of Living Foundation Community Outreach, Inc of Laplace. He was a graduate of 2nd Ward High School of Edgard, La, Southern University of Baton Rouge, La, Dillard University of New Orleans, La, and United Theological Seminary, Houma, La. Pastor Johnson was a former employee of G.S.I. of Midland, Tx., Gulf oil, Chevron, Shell, Texaco, and Exxon-Mobile oil companies of New Orleans, La, West St. John High school of Edgard, La, Reserve Christian School Of Reserve, La and Options for Independence/Louisiana Spirit, Houma, La. Relatives and Friends of the family, Local Community Churches, Tri-Parish officials, School Systems, employees of Louisiana Spirit/Options for Independence, B.P. Cleanup, Oxychem, Bisco, Miken, etc. are invited to attend visitation at Philadelphia B.C., 217 Smith St., Hahnville, La., on Friday, August 20, 2010 from 4pm - 6pm and New Jerusalem B.C., East 6th St., Edgard, La, from 7pm - 9pm. Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 10:00 am West St. John High School, 480 La - 3127, Edgard, La, visitation will start at 8:00 am.
