Julia Adele Gill Wagner

Julia Adele Gill Wagner, 92, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into eternal rest, having a strong Catholic faith, on May 29, 2024. Julia was known for her love of life and vibrant spirit. Although a master of etiquette, her quick wit and vastly creative mind always brought a smile to the people around her. She found joy in spending time with family, had a knack for gardening and cooked "Meme meat" like no other. Julia spent her life as a passionate educator in Louisiana, earning her BAS degree from Dominican College then went on to earn her Masters in Education from Loyola University. She also served as the Executive Director of the Louisiana Governor's Special Commission on Educational Services during the Treen Administration. Beloved wife of the late Hunter O. Wagner, Jr. Daughter of the late G. Wray Gill and Adele Parsons Gill and sister to the late George W. Gill, Jr. Loving mother of Robert O. Wagner (Stacy), Honie Smith (Jim), and Sharon Wolfson (Neil, M.D.) Adoring grandmother of Nichole Dupre (Ruben), Kristin Perez (Leander, IV), Austin Wolfson (Tiffany), and Zane Wagner. Great-grandmother of Alexandra Spallino (Aiden), Leander Perez, V, Sage Edward Perez, and Austyn Olivia Wolfson. Julia's family would like to thank the ladies of Home Instead Slidell for the loving compassionate home care, the wonderful caring staff of Forest Manor in Covington, and St. Catherine's Hospice. Private Memorial Services were held on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
