I just saw about Kevin in the latest LRTA newsletter. Kevin was the TAT teacher at McDonogh 15 when I was principal there. He always found the best costumes for me to wear in our Mardi Gras parades. I really enjoyed being "I Love Lucy". The students didn´t recognize me when I was Cleopatra with that black wig. I still have jump drives in the pink leather pouch he gave to me. Once when I was having a blood pressure episode, he went across the street to get me something to eat. He was indeed a kind soul that will be truly missed by many.

Kevin and the Charpentier family were our neighbors on MacArthur Blvd many years ago. We moved to Charleston and Kevin came to visit us. I lost touch and searched for him for many years. My heart hurts that I waited too long to find him. Kevin and I shared his horse Smilie. ( Actually we rented Smilie from Kevin.) We spent our early years, jumping on the neighbor´s trampoline and long talks about life. We sang to one another on birthdays..all before Facebook and cell phones. He auditioned for Saturday Night Live and we were so excited & hoped he would win them over. The Charpentiers always knew how to have a great party. We met Kevin & family downtown for Mardi Gras @ Royal Sonesta. The food, movie stars and more were the norm. I am thrilled to read about all the wonderful things Kevin accomplished-just wish I would have stayed in touch. My deepest sympathies to all. Kevin holds a special place in my heart and happy he lived a full life.

Mr. Charpentier was my theater teacher in High School, I was recently reminded of him after a rehearsal when I received a correction and thought gee Kevin would have said that.

I was in Mr. Charpentier´s talented in theatre class from 2001-2003. He helped us get our first professional and paid acting job while we were still students at Warren Easton. He was one of my favorite teachers. Always made us laugh and always pushed us to write our own material and embrace the stage. He will truly be missed! TAT C/O 2003

My Friend, I hate seeing this in writing because this makes it real. I don´t have enough words to say how much I will miss you. The "Church Ladies " will never be the same. I´m so grateful for the good times we shared and supporting each other through the bad times. There will never be a pair of wedding coordinators as amazing as you and Sandra. You handled the affairs of the weddings with grace and elegance, as you did with planning our fancy Mardi Gras dinners always surprising us with wonderful gifts, with the last being the jeweled camel from your last big trip. It was so wonderful that at the end of your family trip you were able to create an almost movie like scene and flew to Paris for a meal with Jolie and Fran. Your planning and executing your thoughts left me in awe, and of course your huge heart and over the top personality made you the person that was so easy to love. Again, fly high my friend, and don´t forget to visit in our dreams and send us signs that you haven´t forgot us. If only our love could have cured you, I wouldn´t be writing this. Love you my friend

Truly saddened to hear about Kevin´s passing this morning. He was a person of integrity, genuine and probably one of the funniest people I have had the chance to meet. He brightened up many gloomy Sundays for me. There will never be another quite like him. Condolences to the family.
