Loretta Gant

Loretta (Rett) Marie Gant, age 88 of New Orleans, Louisiana transitioned on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Loretta was born September 12, 1934 to the late Emery and Louise Evans Sidney in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was married to the late John F. Gant. Loretta was educated in the New Orleans Public School System. She was also employed and retired from Orleans Parish School Board as a Dietary Attendant. During her lifetime Loretta would give birth to seven children. Family was everything to her and she was extremely proud of the title mother. She would always call them her beautiful flowers Loretta spent every morning at her table, reading the written word with a cup of coffee. To keep her mind alert she enjoyed and loved doing crossword and word search puzzles. She loved old movies and was a fan of AMC. (American Movie Classics) Network. Remembrances of her are forever embedded in the hearts of her children, Paul Sidney (Ida) New Orleans, La., Ava Humphry, Dallas, TX, Andrea Smith, Wylie, TX, Eric Gant (Valeria), Gonzales, La., John Gant, New Orleans, La., and daughter-in-law, Ann Sidney, Slidell, La. She leaves a legacy to her loving grandchildren, Latonya, Antoinya, Shauna, Gregory, Paul Fredrick, Dreka, Eric Jr., William, John, Ja'kyra and Anthony Jr., eleven great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and cousins, a wonderful church family, her caring and devoted friends Lynwood Martin and Brenda Williams. Cousin Deanie you are the best. Pastor Hayden, members of Greater Bright Morning Star Baptist Church, Watson Memorial Teaching Ministries and employees of Audubon Skilled Nursing Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana are invited to attend The Homegoing Celebration.
