Matthew David Burghardt

Matthew David Burghardt, age 36, of Metairie, LA passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022. He is survived by his mother, Denise Burghardt-Deubler; sister, Ashley Burghardt; grandmother, Juanita Moray; aunt, Ann Burghardt-Dieck, uncle, Dan Burghardt; and numerous cousins. Preceding him in death was his father, David Burghardt; grandparents, John and Amelia Burghardt, and uncle, Kenneth Burghardt. Matt grew up in Metairie, LA where he attended Archbishop Rummel High School. He lived in Jefferson Parish all his life where he enjoyed his trade of painting cars as well as his simple pleasures such as music, food, his collection of Nike tennis shoes and most importantly, bringing laughter to everyone around him. Matt was so much more than his struggles. He loved to play basketball, car rides with loud music and spending time with his best friend, Ross and cousin, Jessica. He was a very talented Automotive Painter just like his dad. Matt never knew a stranger and would always make you feel welcomed. He would do anything for a laugh. Anyone that truly knew him, knew he had such a big heart. He loved fiercely and deeply, and we take comfort in knowing that Matthew is now at peace. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124.
