Melva Adam Obituary

Melva Polkey Adam of Marrero, LA on Friday, July 26, 2002. Age 88 years. Born in Grand Isle, LA; resident of Lafitte, LA for many years and a resident of Marrero, LA for several years. Beloved wife of the late Lucien Adam, Jr. Mother of Bridget Adam Alexie and the late Loretta Adam Badeaux. Sister of the late Jules Polkey, Earl Polkey and Rupert Polkey. Grandmother of Trudy Back, Marsha Robinson, Wedny Bienvenue, Angel Dempster and Jamie Otten. Mrs. Adam is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Adam was a member of the Amvets No. 36, VFW Post 6793, American Legion Post 344-206, Marrero Senior Citizens, Terrytown Golden Ages and AARP. She was a volunteer for 18 years at West Jefferson Medical Center, a retiree from the Jefferson Parish School Systems after being employed for 27 years. She received a bachelors degree in arts from Tulane University and a 4 year graduate from Tulane University. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service from the Chapel of WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, Marrero, LA on Monday, July 29, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Adams Cemetery, Lafitte, LA. Visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home on Monday morning, July 29, 2002 from 10 o'clock until funeral time. WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME in charge of arrangements. Information: 341-9421.
