Stanley Robinson Obituary

Stanley "Big Rob" Robinson, Sr., a life-long resident of both Orleans and St. Bernard Parishes, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family on July 20, 2022. He was the 2nd son born to the late Harold Robinson, Sr., and Clara Johnson Robinson on October 20, 1945. A proud Army veteran, Stanley was a loving father to Caprice Robinson, Arthur Jude Robinson (deceased), Stanley Robinson, Jr. (Michelle), Timothy Maxwell Robinson (Monique), and Judith Marie Watson (Toby). He was the brother to Clara Rita Barthelemy, Peter James Robinson (Tracy), Billy Ray Robinson (Josephine), Harold Robinson, Jr. (deceased), Peola Dominick (deceased), Gail Bienemy (deceased), Lillian Mitchell (deceased), and Swanson LaBeaud (deceased). Proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren: Candrice Robinson-Pollard (Kwame), Jarmell Ross, Demetrius Robinson, Jordyn Morgan, Zoe' Robinson (deceased), Christian Watson, Ezra Robinson, and Fitzgerald Robinson. 4 great-grandchildren: Kwame Pollard, Jr., Knox Pollard, Demetrie Ross, and Amyas Robinson. He is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pastors, Officers, and members of New Hope Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Verrett, Louisiana, all neighboring churches of St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and Orleans Parishes, all Alumni of Violet Consolidated School, Past members of the Poor Boy Fishing, Social, and Pleasure Club, Mercedes Lounge, Vieux Carre' Lounge, Domino Sugar Refinery, NASA Michoud Facility, Past and Current members of the U. S. Army Reserve 377th THC, U.S. Army Reserve 1192nd Deployment and Distribution Support Battalion, Surviving Service Members and families of the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, and all Local VFW Posts are requested to attend the Celebration of Life and U.S. Military Funeral Honor Services for Stanley "Big Rob" Robinson, Sr. on August 6, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1807 Rev. John Raphael Jr Way, New Orleans, LA 70113 with visitation from 10:00am-11:00am with service starting at 11:00am. Officiant: Rev. Jamaal Weathersby, Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church Interment: Southeast LA Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA. Arrangements by D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave, New Orleans, LA 70125.
