Stephen Snyder Jr. Obituary

Stephen Lee Snyder, Jr., age 48, was born in New Orleans, LA, on February 12, 1976, and passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2024. He attended Columbia Southern University for Safety Engineering and worked as an oil field specialist for 26 years. Stephen was a dedicated member of Riverside Church in Lafayette for many years, where he served and worshiped with passion. He also volunteered at his local Meals on Wheels and Toys for Tots, demonstrating his commitment to caring for others. Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Cristina; his parents Stephen Lee, Sr., and Sherry Snyder, and Joyce Snyder; his daughter Era Etienne Snyder and his son Stephen Lee Snyder III. He is also survived by his sisters Dawn Durapau (Dave), Loannie Mangual (Vladimir), Rudina Hotard (Raymond), and Melissa Snyder (Butch); his brothers Jacob Snyder (Kori) and Harrison Brehm; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his Riverside Church family and friends. Stephen had a larger-than-life presence and always cared deeply for others. He loved fiercely and lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with passion and joy. His unwavering dedication to his family, his community, and his faith was a testament to the incredible man he was. Stephen was an amazing father and husband, and his love for God and people shone brightly in everything he did. While we will deeply miss Stephen's presence here on earth, it brings comfort all to know that he is now at peace with his Creator. His memory will continue to inspire and uplift us, and we find solace in the hope of a future reunion in heaven. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Riverside Church family, as well as friends and extended family, for their support during this difficult time. A visitation for Stephen will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, followed by a funeral service 2:00 PM, with interment thereafter.
