Susan Halsrud Obituary

Our beloved and devout mother, wife and grandmother, Susan LeBlanc Halsrud entered the Lord's kingdom peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Russel Ellsworth Halsrud, II; her sons, Ryan Joseph Halsrud (Jill) and Russel Ellsworth Halsrud III; her sisters, Brenda LeBlanc Miramon, Bonita Leblanc Waesche (Randy) and her brother, Leslie Joseph LeBlanc, Jr. (Kris). She is also survived by a grandson, William Joseph Halsrud; a godchild, Megan Maleady Waesche (Mike); two nieces, Rachel Marie Waesche, Beatrice Amanda Waesche; a great nieces, Riley Boyd Miramon and a nephew, Whitney Michael Miramon, Jr. (Barbara). She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Joseph LeBlanc and Ollie Usey LeBlanc in addition to a great niece, Lindsay Michelle Miramon. Susan was an avid angler, top notch chef, and the organizer of all family gatherings. She truly enjoyed preparing Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for her entire family as well as spending time in Lafitte fishing with her husband, sons and grandson. She was a member of New Orleans Town Hoppers social club for over 40 years and was a dedicated and devout Catholic. She was a devoted wife, mother of two exemplary men whom she raised with love and a doting grandmother. She will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. My sincere sympathy gors out to the Halsrud and LeBlanc families for the loss of your dear family member, Susan Leblanc Halsrud. My name is Janice Belsom Corb. Susan and I went to St. Stephen’s High School together for 4 years and graduated together in 1966. Susan was a great friend, leader and wonderful classmate. I will never forget our friendship in school and after graduation. We were both Student Council officers as well as good friends at St Stephen’s.
Praying for your families at this time.
You have all been blessed to have Susan in all of your lives. May the Lord’s peace comfort you and be with your families. God bless!

Dear Halshrud and LeBlanc Families,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your Beloved Susan. She was our beloved teacher and volleyball coach at St Joseph High School. We prayed the Memorare before each game. Win or lose, we had a great time and enjoyed her guidance and sense of humor. No doubt, by her example, she influenced the lives of many young women. May God strengthen and comfort you during this difficult time.
Fondly,
Debra Garibaldi
