I worked with Teddy at the Lafitte Area Development Association in the mid 80s and we always reconnected periodically over the years. I count him as a good friend and an inspiration. He was always enthusiastic and full of good ideas!

Our hearts go out to the entire Pierre family on Teddy's loss. We first met when Theo and our son, Peter, became lifelong friends in kindergarten, and we quickly came to know what wonderful guy Teddy was. He will be sorely missed, but the world is a brighter place for him having been here.

I am a retired Architect who worked many projects in the Historic Districts and the Vieux Carre for about 45 years. I have known Teddy all of that time. He worked on both my home (190 year old Creole Cottage) and probable most of the work that I preformed for clients. Teddy was the most knowledgeable "brick" man that I knew. He has left his mark all over the Vieux Carre, the Historic District, and even Natchitoches. He taught all of his friends all of his knowledge so that we could save our very old masonry houses and structures. He has saved several existing cemeteries from clappsing as well. I cannot say enough about him professionally and personally. We shared clients and other trades people with each other as well. Teddy and his contribution to historic architecture will live on as it should. He will be missed by all who knew him as a kindhearted man who did his best always. Thank you Teddy for helping all of us Architects learn part of your gift.

I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Teddy 25 years ago when he was practicing his craft on 3 story masonry house across the street from me, singlehanded I might add. I was fortunate to have some scaffolding that I could loan to him, and what he gave back to me about the art and integrity of a job well executed will live with me forever. Our city and especially the French Quarter architecture that he loved and helped preserve will be his legacy to us all.

We were saddened to hear of Teddy´s passing, but we remember the great times our two families shared as children growing into adulthood as children of teachers, and the continued camaraderie and friendship our parents shared through their elder years! May you be consoled by the outpouring of love the community of friends and family share, and the memories that are shared. Peace be unto him and your family, and may his memory be a blessing.

Teddy,
Our friendship with you and your family began during the innocent years at Lusher and Carrollton ballpark. Ray´s last conversation with you occurred at the Beauregard-Keyes House where you all shared chatter about conservation efforts for the house. All of our interactions with you were filled with friendship, information and joyful laughter. Your smile would light up any event. We count ourselves lucky to have enjoyed your company in so many parts of our lives. We thank you for your tremendous contributions to the historical preservation of New Orleans. We hold your family close in our thoughts as they journey through their loss...Ray and Elise Diament

Teddy, you were a remarkable man and such a pleasure to know. Thank you for your visits to me with Donald Jackson while I was in the hospital, thank you for your joyful voice in the choir and your smiles, thank you for conversations through the chain-link fence about mutual acquaintances, bricklaying, creativity and philosophy. Your hand, eye, and good heart brought such beauty into the world. Thank you, sir.
