My condolences to the family. Mr. Duvernay was a very cool, caring, understanding, and compassionate teacher. He was my PE teacher at Andrew J. Bell Jr. High School. He encouraged me to continue playing sports and played a vital part in my life growing up. He was so proud to know that I continued with my studies and graduated with honors from junior and senior high school, as well as college.
Mr. Duvernay is a true definition of a man. He will be missed.

Mr. Duvernay was one of the coolest & toughest coaches at Andrew J. Bell, but we enjoyed his class in the late 80´s. I still remember on the 1st day of class, he wrote a story on the chalkboard and everyone came in and just started writing it down, and at the very end, it said, " Now throw the paper away, always read the directions 1st." So thanks to him, I take time to read the fine print. He was one of those gentle big pit bulls, his bark was bigger than his bite! He loved us and we loved him, he was well respected. Yet, I´m still mad that he made me jump those hurdles that I thought I couldn´t jump, he pushed and fussed, and made me do it, and guess what, I did! He believed in me when I didn´t believe in myself.
Thank you Mr. Duvernay, you have been unforgettable since I left Bell. You gave these project kids wisdom, guidance and hope, thank you! May you Rest in Power! You were loved and appreciated. You would be very proud of me, 2 Masters´ Degrees and you played a vital role in my success. God bless you! My deepest condolences to the family. He was a wonderful teacher, a great asset to our lives! We were blessed to have him.
God Bless,
Kim

A friend, and college basketball teammate is what you were Vic!
Many games played between Holy Cross and St Aug when we were in High School, but we really became real friends at Xavier, as we played under legendary coach Bob Hopkins with the best city players from Booker T, Brother Martin, Holy Cross and St Aug, and out of staters! We were on Xaviers´ best team ever.
We always talked about how we beat Tulane in there Arena and stunned the NOLA SPORTS media.
Boy that was a great feeling that night with a pack house.
The best thing was that we never lost contact even till the end of your Eternal journey! We talked on the phone until you couldn´t any more.
One My brother, your now with the Lord! We´ll have some one on ones when I see you again! Best out of 7!
Jimmy Dominick (Nick) as you called me!

Victor
Condolences to you and your family. Will miss you and be remembered at our CCS events. Glad we had time to revisit our youth and spend time with those memories. For now rest yourself. We all will continue our journey in life until Our Lord and Saviour calls our name, "Come Up" and we bow our knee and say, "My Lord and My God".
