CALLAIS Virgie Sandras Callais passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 7:59 PM in Cut Off, LA. Beloved wife of the late Sidney A. Callais. Mother of Gerald J. Callais and wife Julie "Sue", Carolyn Chouest and husband Gary and Janell Greene and husband W.M. "Mickey". Grandmother of Donna Richardson, Marty, Jody, Mitchell Pitre, Angie Cooper, Misty Guidry, Tim Callais, Kelly Gaubert, Lynn Weimer. Dionne Chouest Austin, Dino, Damon, Casey, Ross Chouest, Erin and Erick Greene and the late Brandon Greene. Daughter of the late Edmond Sandras, Sr. and Victoria Dufrene Sandras. Sister of Ethel Williams and the late Louis, Edmond Jr., Phillp, Sidney and Earline Sandras. Also survived by 32 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren. A native and resident of Cut Off, LA. Age 92 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cut Off, LA on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation from 11:00 AM until funeral time Monday at the church. Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

What a joy it was to know Mrs. V. We always looked forward to our afternoon coffee. Although I worked for her she treated me as a guest. Whenever she needed something the request was always preceded by please and always followed by thank you. Her laugh and smile would make me laugh and smile. I will miss her. My thanks to the family for allowing me to work for her.
