Thomas Loretto Obituary

Saint Louis Park - Loretto, Thomas, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, surrounded by his children and family. Tom was beloved by family and friends and co-workers, people who he touched with his kindness and abiding curiosity. His love of geology was immense, as was his interest in astronomy, beekeeping, and using the scientific method to determine the best cup of coffee or sourdough bread recipe. He adored the work of Bob Dylan and Robert Service, among many other musicians, poets, and writers. Tom was a runner and cyclist as well and completed a marathon. He lived a rich life and shared his joy with everyone. Above all else, Tom loved and respected his family-his admiration of his wife, Najwa, and his children, Reef, Ruby and Makeen, was as profound as life itself. Preceded in death by his parents, Vincent G. and Patricia R. Loretto, and his wife, Najwa Bukhari. He is survived by his children, Reef, Ruby and Makeen Loretto, his brother Ken (Patricia Mok), brother Doug, and numerous family members and good friends. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00am, followed by lunch, at the Wasner Barn, 4909 315th Street West, Northfield, MN 55057. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Sharing Our Roots (https://sharing-our-roots.org/).
