We are so filled with grief for your loss of Anthony. The pain of losing Joey becomes fresh again and nearly impossible to fathom how you go on with life in the face of these unspeakable losses. Our loss of our beloved Scott has also risen to the surface and we so deeply mourn the loss of these 3 young lives. My memory still sees our 4 boys playing outside together without a care in the world - how cruelly sad that 3 of them are no longer here as young men. My faith tells me that God knew reasons that we could never fathom for bringing them home to Him; my faith also tells me that somehow, He will carry us through our pain with those "footprints in the sand". Our boys are together again and surely will watch over all of us. They will remain in our hearts... Paula, George, Carmela and girls: you are in our constant prayers and thoughts. I pray that God will offer you His grace of healing in time. We love you all.

I just met Anthony in April on the Desert Caballeros Ride in Arizona, but the first time we talked, it felt like I had known him for years. We were both "greenies" (first-time riders), and became quick friends. Throughout the week we said we would definitely be coming back for many years to come. He told me the ride was one of the greatest experiences of his life, and I am glad I was there to witness it. He spoke often of his wife and his three beautiful daughters that he was so crazy about and couldn't wait to see them all upon his return home. My deepest condolences go out to you and I will keep your family in my prayers.

To the whole Maio family,

I have so many wonderful memories of your family. I was especially fond of caroling on Christmas Eve on your doorstep in Mahwah with the Eley's ... Anthony opened the door and invited us all in with an open heart, open arms, and a complimentary cocktail.
