Luis A. Monroy

Monroy, Luis A. of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the age of 61 years. He worked as an environmental scientist for AECOM of Clifton. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Bergenfield Lodge # 1477. Beloved "husband" of Laurie E. Razen.

Cherished son of Emma (nee Leon) of Manahawkin and the late Luis Monroy. Devoted father of Stephen M. Monroy of New York City. Dearest brother of Astrid Mamatz and her husband Dennis of Aiken, SC, Muriel Conway and her husband Patrick of Cranford, Hamlet Monroy and his wife Veronica of New Milford, and Amilcar Monroy and his wife Maureen of Scotch Plains. Loving uncle of eight nieces and nephews and three great nieces and nephews. The funeral on Friday, May 26th, at 9:45 AM from the G. Thomas Gentile Funeral Home, 397 Union Street, Hackensack. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity R. C. Church, 34 Maple Avenue, Hackensack. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 - 8 PM. The family prefers in lieu of flowers that you honor his memory with a memorial donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38148-0142. I am so sorry to hear of louie's passing. I hope you all can take comfort in the fact that he is no longer in any pain and is in a better place. I have such great memories of Louie dating all the way back to our high school days. I will keep all of you in my prayers.
