Mark Bissell Obituary
Mark G. Bissell, 54, of Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
Beloved son of the late Gregory and Griselda Bissell. Loving uncle and godfather of the late Edward Gadsby. Mark is survived by his four children, Matthew Bissell and wife Amanda, Elizabeth Bissell and fiancé Johnathan Olmo, Jonathan Bissell and Andrea Kehoe, Rebecca Bissell and grandchildren: Ava Bissell, Autumn Bissell, Isabella Bissell and two grandchildren on the way. He is also survived by siblings: Thaddeus Bissell and wife Donna, Griselda Gadsby and husband Edward, Christopher Bissell and wife Brenda, and nieces and nephews: Zak Bissell, Jake Bissell, Kyle Bissell, Erik Bissell, Emilia Gadsby, Lee Gadsby, Caroline Gadsby, Kate Gadsby, Julia Gadsby, and Evangeline Bissell.
Mark loved and served his country, enlisting in the Marine Corps in 1984. He worked for many years in New York City as a Statistical Data Analyst for the major clothing company Jordache. He was an outdoor enthusiast, who loved camping, canoeing and watching the NY Giants and Yankee games with family and friends. Mark enjoyed expressing himself artistically through amateur photography, art and creating music on his keyboard. He also took pleasure in cooking at his home during holidays and summer barbecues. Mark will be remembered for his contagious smile, sense of humor, generosity, tender-heart and fervent love for his family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10 AM at the Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Luke's Cemetery, 340 North Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org. Please send tributes, memories and condolences to vanemburghsneider.com.
