I will always remember Ray. I met him when he worked in Goulds Music store in Flushing. Then one Sunday night he was playing his trumpet for my church. We dated for awhile and he was my first love. He took me to many concerts and taught me about the love of music. He was 8 yrs. older than me at the time and it wasn't meant to be. So glad he went on to influence so many young people to play the trumpet. I know he will be missed.

It was a privilege to have know Mr. Heller, although, for a brief time.
His openness to those who love playing music was undoubtedly very rewarding.

No words could capture Rays enthusiasm and jest for teaching young musicians. I was lucky to be one of his first public school students, and because of Ray I developed a life long appreciation of music.
RIP you will be Missed.
