Roland E., 64, of Teaneck, NJ passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck.
Roland, born on July 12, 1948 in New York City, was predeceased by his parents Olric Watts and Enid (Parris).
Roland resided in Sweden, upstate New York and Massachusetts prior to moving to New Jersey in 1984.
Roland graduated from NYC Community College in 1969, Richmond College-Staten Island, in 1971, University of Stockholm in 1973 and Cambridge College in 1983 and was Associate Vice President for Campus Life at William Paterson University.
He was an active member of Christ Church of Montclair, NJ, serving in the information, communion and finance ministries.
He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey (Hines) Bonaparte; a son, Andre Bonaparte, Tucson, AZ; a daughter, Jacquelyn Bonaparte of Teaneck, NJ and his sister Diane Watts of Bayside, NY. Roland also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Sarah Battle of Tucson, AZ; three sisters-in-law: Dawn Sande, Phoenix, AZ, Beverly Dickerson, Brandywine, MD, and Christine Hines, Tucson, AZ. He enjoyed his many cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as friends and co-workers. He is also predeceased by his sister Valarie Watts-Briscoe of North Carolina.
Visiting hours will be Friday, June 14, from 6-9 PM, at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, N.J. Services will be on Saturday, June 15, at Christ Church, 68 Church Street, Montclair. The viewing will begin at 10 a.m. followed by Funeral Services at 11 AM, followed by Interment at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
