WEIL
Victor Jerry, M.D. passed away on December 31, 2011. He had practiced Ophthalmology in Fair Lawn for over 50 years and was on the medical staff at The Valley Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and The Barnert Hospital. Dr. Weil grew up in Fair Lawn and graduated from Eastside High School and later from Columbia University, Downstate School of Medicine New York and Mt. Sinai Dept. of Medicine. He was the Past President of the Passaic County Medical Society, Daughters of Miriam and The Barnert Hospital Medical Staff. He was a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He was a veteran and served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Dr. Weil was always known for his athletic ability and played baseball for Columbia University and remained supportive of Columbia's athletic program. After graduation he was offered a signing bonus to play baseball by the Brooklyn Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals. Dr. Weil ran in the New York City Marathon several times. He will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity to everyone. He is predeceased by his brothers Sidney and Melvin and is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Keenan Weil and his children; Richard, Nancy Nitolo (John), Robert (Suzanne) and Seth. He is also survived by his brother Bennett Weil, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His funeral services will be conducted at the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah in Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus on Tuesday, January 3, at 2:45 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice. If you wish to express your condolences you may do so at legacy.com. Arrangements by Basralian Funeral Home, Oradell, N.J.

Dr Weil was the best. He took care of both of my girls eyes. He also took care of me and my nerves when they went into surgery. I have nothing but great memories as do both of my daughters. You will be missed. With love and thankfulness.. Sharon, Robyn & Janel Bodner.
