Ronald E. Resch, 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, April 21, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at 2:00 P.M. at the church. Burial will be held at the St. Margaret's Cemetery in Spirit Lake. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Online condolences may be left at www.spiritlakefuneralhome.com Ronnie was born on September 14, 1941, in Spencer to Edward and Lucy (Milleman) Resch. He married his lovely bride, Joan (Fries) on August 10, 1963, in Estherville. Ronnie was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Many knew him to be a character and could always be seen in a stylish pair of bib overalls. In his younger years, Ronnie played in Little Joe's Dance Band, where he could be seen playing the clarinet, alto saxophone and tenor saxophone. He could also be seen dressed up as the beloved Yo-Yo the Clown at many celebrations and birthday parties. Ronnie and Joan lived on the farm where they raised 5 children. The farm was a place for many activities, whether it was raising livestock, harvesting crops, or taking care of their many dogs. It was a central place that friends and family would come together to celebrate and help one another out. They always felt blessed for all the neighbors and friends they had. Almost every morning, Ronnie and Joan could be seen at the Diner, where they would catch up with good friends and maybe give a hard time or two. Ronnie loved to spend time with his neighbors and beloved family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Left to cherish Ronnie's memory is Sam (Kari) Resch, Andrew Resch, Mike (Julie) Resch, Patty (Bob) Macy, and Jake (Celeste) Resch; grandchildren, Kiana Resch, Emily Resch, Nick (Makayla) Resch, Jennifer Resch, James and Benjamin Macy, Maxwell and Hudson Resch; great-granddaughter, Everly Resch; sisters-in-law, Mary Johnson and Betty Resch; brother-in-law, Jim (Sandy) Fries; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan; brother Ramon Resch; brother-in-law Lyn Johnson, and nephews, Bill and Mark Fries.

Ron played tenor & and I played alto sax in high school band. Needless to say he was a much better musician than I. He was soft spoken with a gentle sense of humor and I imagine he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
