Carol (Bartels) Witte, 85, of Hamler, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025.
She was born in Hamler, Ohio, on May 8, 1940, to the late Arnold and Emelia (Haase) Bartels. On Oct. 22, 1961, she married the love of her life, Morris Witte, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Hamler, and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2017.
Carol thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her friends and family to various destinations. She would often work outside and around the house, especially in her flower garden.
Carol was an avid artist. She enjoyed ceramic painting, various arts and crafts, and would always find time to decorate the house for every holiday and season.
She loved her family dearly and would often spend time with her grandchildren when she would babysit for them in her pastime. Carol was a faithful member of Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler, where she met many of her closest friends.
She is survived by her son, Daniel (Janel) Witte; grandchildren, Mckenna, Madalyn and Marissa; and sister, Barbara Bartels.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Wiemken.
Friends and family will be received at Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held for Carol at Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler, on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at 11 a.m., with an hour of visitation prior to services.
Memorial contributions can be made to Hope Lutheran Church or Defiance CHP Home Care and Hospice.
