Pierre Caron Obituary

Pierre S. Caron June 29, 1917 - December 27, 2008 PLAINFIELD - Pierre S. Caron, 91, of 18 Arnio Dr. Moosup beloved husband of Doris (Vanasse) Caron died Saturday afternoon at Day-Kimball Hospital, Putnam. He was born June 29, 1917 in Causapscal, P. Q. Canada a son of the late Louis and Rose-anna (Levasseur) Caron and had resided in Moosup for most of his life. Mr. Caron was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was self employed as an upholsterer for over 40 years. Mr. Caron was an active communicant of All Hallows Church, where he taught religious education and was a Eucharistic Minister and Lay Reader. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #270. Mr. Caron was also active with The American Red Cross and Project Pin. Besides his wife he leaves four sons, James Caron and his wife Cheryl of Brooklyn, David Caron and his wife Carol of Plainfield, John Caron of Moosup and Michael Caron and his wife Lillian of Moosup. One brother, Joseph Caron of North Carolina; one sister, Cecile Bessette of Manchester; his grandchildren, Robert Caron, Melissa Zito, Vanessa Zito-Downs, Brian Caron, Kevin Caron, Scott Caron and Jeffrey Caron. Also three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson Ronald Caron and his brothers and sisters, Armand, Edouard, Laurence, Helene, Maurice, Louis, Rose, Gerard and his twin Paul. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd., Plainfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in All Hallows Church. Burial with Military Honors will follow in All Hallows Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to All Hallows Church, 130 Prospect St., Moosup, CT 06354.
